Indian Concrete Institute is one of the leading professional bodies in India, catering to the professional needs of individuals and organisations involved in Concrete. Being a non-profit Organisation, it is dedicated to the cause of Disseminating Knowledge on Concrete, to Promote Concrete Technology and Construction and to address the Research Needs of Concrete. The Genesis of ICI dates back to the year 1982, when SERC Chennai and Anna University jointly conducted an International Seminar on Modern Concrete Construction Practices. The overwhelming response to the seminar prompted the Organisers to start the Indian Concrete Institute. Thus, the ICI was born in 1982 with around 500 members from 5 regional Centres. Today ICI is a strong professional body having more than 13, 000 enrolled members, from 45 regional Centres in all major cities, spread across the entire length and breadth of the country. Of these, more than 363 are Organisational Members.
The Civil Department of VJEC has started student’s chapter of Indian Concrete Institute (India), with membership number 13710 on March 2023.
Production Engineering is a combination of manufacturing technology with management science. A production engineer typically has a wide knowledge of engineering practices and is aware of the management challenges related to production. The goal is to accomplish the production process in the smoothest, most-judicious and most-economic way.
IIPE is a Premier Body of Indian Manufacturing Professionals. Its Aim is to serve the manufacturing fraternity- whether you are an engineer or an accountant or even a medical doctor, but engaged in some way contributing to the manufacturing and technology excellence of the country. We aim to provide a platform for networking and knowledge sharing ,accessible among our student community. Department has received Certification of IIPE Chapter, Reg.No. S/OE/9453, as an organisational member with effect from June 2016.
Production engineering encompasses the application of castings, machining processing, joining processes, metal cutting & tool design, metrology, machine tools, machining systems, automation, jigs and fixtures, die and mould design, material science, design of automobile parts, and machine designing and manufacturing. Production engineering also overlaps substantially with manufacturing engineering and industrial engineering.
IIPE provides a common forum for exchange of information for Manufacturing Professionals, in all areas of manufacturing – Processes, Tools, Quality, Automation, Planning, Management and current Technologies.
Founded in 1952 with the formation of IRE’s (the Institute of Radio Engineers) Professional Group on Communications Systems (PGCS), IEEE Communications Society has evolved into a diverse group of global industry professionals with a common interest in advancing all communications technologies. Members interact across international and technological borders to:
IEEE gives its members guidance to plot career path, track jobs, to conduct local events and conferences and also enable member to member communication. Since the Communications Society (ComSoc) began operations in January 1972 as an independent Society of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) with over 8,800 members, ComSochas become the premier international forum for the exchange of ideas on communications technologies and information networking.
The students chapter of IEEE in VimalJyothi became active on 10th April 2015 and was inaugurated by Dr. JitendranathMungara, currently working as Dean, PG studies – R V College of Engineering, Bangalore. As of January 2016, VJEC COMSOC SOCIETY has around 30+ student members. The society conducted a wide variety of programs in last year and also took part in various activities in the communication field. Through the different technical activities of this chapter- engineering students, researchers, academicians, industry employers are benefited immensely and got the opportunity to closely interact with each other.
The motive of this society was to provide encouragement to develop applications in the respective area of study. It consistsof a diverse group of industry professionals with a common interest in advancing all communications technologies. The Society sponsors publications, conferences, educational programs, local activities, and technical committees that foster original work in all aspects of communications science, engineering, and technology. It also encourages the development of applications that use signals to transfer voice, data, image, and/or video information between locations. It promotes the theory and use of systems involving all types of terminals, computers, and information processors; all pertinent systems and operations that facilitate transfer; all transmission media; switched and unswitched networks; and network layouts, protocols, architectures, and implementations.

The IEEE student branch of VJEC was inaugurated in the year 2009 with the aim of bringing the students more closer to the technological world and thereby helping them to be aware about the rapidly changing world of technology and to make themselves prepared and self-sufficient for the highly competitive world. Working under the guidance of Mr. Prabin James, AP EEE the Branch Counselor, the SB had attained the status and visibility within one year like no other professional chapters have ever attained in the college. In the later years the SB was able to maintain the momentum and visibility and has emerged as a leading professional chapter in the college. We were able to host many hub and Section level events which made our SB a highly active and eminent one in the Kerala section.
The IEEE SB of VJEC still continues to be in that momentum even today with more than 230 dedicated and committed members

Having said that, the Robotics Club of VJEC strives to stimulate interest in robotics among the students of the institute. Besides making a serious endeavor to spread knowledge on Robotics. It is this exemplary virtue that has bound the club and helped it to grow to its present potential. It was initiated way back in 2009 under the tutelage of Prof. Sunil Paul (Department of Mechanical Engineering) and over the years it has diversified. The club today is an active platform for students to display and develop their practical machine building skills and knowledge.
Robotics club also organizes seminars and workshops in the broad fields of robotics and mechatronics periodically. It also acts as a resource center and workshop for final year projects. Each year robotics club is directly involved in minimum of twenty projects and indirectly involved in so many other projects. Robotics club is also into industry consultation projects.
